College fairs

There will be several college fairs next week. I would like to encourage all seniors to attend. On Thursday October 13, 2011 from 9:00A.M. to noon at the Sprint Center several sponsors will be hosting the Greater KC College Experience. The fair is open to all public, private, parochial, and charter schools to participate. The Sprint Center is located at 1407 Grand Blvd in downtown Kansas City Mo. The Urban League of Greater Kansas City in partnership with Infinite Scholars are hosting the 2011 Minority Scholarship Fair on Saturday October 15, 2011 from 9:00AM until 1:00PM. The location of this event is the Hyatt Regency Hotel 2345 McGee Kansas City Mo 64108. Parking for this event will be free. There will be representatives from several HBCUs such as Alabama A&M, Dilliard, Fisk, Lane, Tuskegee University etc. There will also be representatives from area schools as well, such as UMKC, Webster, MU, KU, etc. If  you are interested in attending this please contact the Urban League at 816 471-0550 or go to www.infinitescholar.com. Please don't forget to bring your ACT-SAT test scores, multiple copies of your transcripts, and two letters of recommendation. Both of these fairs are tremendous ways to network and an opportunity to get a jump on your college career. We hope that you will be in attendance!

About Macedonia Scholarships

Macedonia Scholarship Ministry Details

Requirements:

An active member of the Macedonia Baptist Church.

A 2.5 cumulative grade point average. (Copy of most
recent transcript or report card)

Actively involved in Teen Ministry at Macedonia Baptist Church
(may also be involved in other MBC ministries)
A recent high school graduate.

Accepted and enrolled into an institution of higher learning
(full-time student status is required).

Able to provide proof of enrollment and registration.

Undergraduate Book Scholarship

Requirements:

Must be a sophomore, junior or senior in college
(full-time student status is required)

Must be an active member of the Macedonia Baptist Church

Must have a 2.5 cumulative grade point average.
(copy of most recent transcript required)

Must be actively pursuing other scholarship funding
(outside of Macedonia Baptist Church)

Must be willing to volunteer 10 hours of time to an
assigned church ministry
(within one year of receiving the book scholarship award)
- You will be asked to sign a ministry agreement
